Poor dear old Max. He really has hit rock bottom at the bargain bin in GameStop. It’s been nearly 10 years since his last outing. All of the people that he has ever loved have eventually died in some horrible way. His life is in shambles; all he wants is to be left alone. Now Rockstar is bringing him out of retirement and into his final (really, final?) outing.
Back to Liberty City in the wake of GTA IV. GTA IV was one of those epic games that came out in 2008. The PS3 and 360 were still trying to really show what they could do. The commercials made gamer’s jaws drop in awe. GTA IV was a great game but Episodes from Liberty City gave gamers more of what they loved instead of what they disliked.
Gamestop is kicking off its Gamestock 2012 this week. Some of the deals are one day only, others are there for a week or so, and some are for a few months. The deals are on both used and new games. Here are the deals worth mentioning.
By now most gamers have heard the news. Nintendo has announced the new 3DS is coming out relatively soon. The big question on everyone’s mind is why didn’t they announce this at E3 and what does this mean for the original 3DS?
Resonance is a new point and click adventure game from Wadjet Eye Games, the maker of Gemini Rue and The Blackwell series. Their latest adventure takes you on another deep and tangled mystery full of intrigue, plot-twists, and pixel hunting. How good is it? Let’s take a look.
Endless Space is a turn-based 4X strategy game being developed by Amplitude Studios. For those who don’t know what 4X is, it’s basically a game where players build an empire and explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate. Like the popular Sid Meier's Civilization series, players start with limited units and resources. The player must explore and expand to claim more territory and exploit resources. With those resources, units can be constructed to exterminate enemies.
The Zen Studio team is back and with them are quite possibly the best pinball tables they’ve delivered to date. If you’re a Marvel fanatic, this is what you’ve been waiting for. If you just want some mindless, arcade pinball fun, this content won’t disappoint. The new DLC contains four new tables, which include:
World War Hulk
By the mid-90s PC gamers tended to lean toward FPS and Strategy games. Like a lot of gamers I have fond memories of Jedi Knight, Quake 1 and 2, Doom, Age of Empires, Tomb Raider 2, Warcraft 2, Total Annihilation, and the the list goes on and on. But I happened to read a review in PC Gamer that would change my gaming perspective forever on one genre that would open the floodgates of RPGs for so many gamers like myself.
Ground Branch is an online multiplayer tactical shooter that is currently in development by BlackFoot Studios using Unreal Engine 3.0. The founder, John Sonedecker, was one of the developers of the original Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games. Ground Branch is being developed side by side with Special Forces veterans so that it can look and feel as real as possible. Unlike some other games that claim to be tactical shooters, Ground Branch will be slow-paced, very realistic, and have a strong focus on tactics.
The Zen Studio crew assembles a mighty set of tables ready to bring you back to the virtual pinball arcade!
Releasing on the 19th for the PlayStation Network and the 20th for Xbox Live for $9.99/800 MSP, the Avengers Chronicles adds something new to the Pinball FX world: cohesive storylines. Zen Studios upped the ante this time, going beyond previous attempts to get a general genre/idea/character across. The Avengers Chronicles showcases the storyline of the new Avengers movie as well as three other major stories from the Marvel universe that utilize members of the Avengers. Click in for some video of the pinball action!
"Need Cash Now," that would be a good slogan for Blizzard or how about "Cash 4 Gold?!" Blizzard recently updated Diablo III and with it came the long anticapted Real-Money Auction House. So what does all of this mean for gamers? Should we quit our day jobs?
Calendar Man will prove particularly daunting for GoozerNation's personal Arkham City reminder person, but hopefully you will be able to pencil in your time with Julian this month.
The lifestyle of a gamer is a turn off for some girls. You spend most of your time in front of a screen either shooting people, creating a second life (without your girlfriend), or pretending to be a professional athlete, when everyone knows you couldn’t throw a football to save your life. However, some women do appreciate the games and the people playing them. If you’re in the market for a girl that can appreciate, or at least put up with your gaming habits, check out this how-to guide.
Pick a girl that is independent.
Be honest with yourself. You know you will spend more time playing video games than catering to your lady, so pick a girl with her own life. Make sure she has friends that can keep her entertained during your countless gaming binges.
Find a gamer girl.
If you can find a girl that plays video games, hold on to her tight. She will not only support your video game habit, but also be a major part of it. Every anniversary, birthday and special event can revolve around gaming, what more could you ask for?
Hit the streets.
You’re never going to find your dream girl staring at a screen. As hard as it may be to leave the comfort of your home, or your online gaming community, that’s where the real girls live. Hit up your favorite gaming store, a local coffee shop, or participate in events in your community—you never know who you’ll find!
Now that we’ve covered the basics of finding your perfect gamer girl, let’s get into details. What follows is a list of game-specific expectations that shouldn’t be passed by...
The week of E3 has come and gone. The big question now is, what are the must-have games for gamers? Several titles look to be very promising.
While Hollywood's repeated attempts to bring geek culture to the big screen is more often a failure than not, documentaries seem to be one of the best ways to make it happen. King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters tells an amazing true story of Steve Wiebe's journey to take the top spot in the world of Pac-Man. It focuses on real people, not poorly acted caricatures, and is all the better for it. Morgan Spurlock's Comic-Con Episode IV also succeeds in this same manner, merely putting a camera in front of real people who have high hopes and amazing stories.
Many times Amazon Warehouse has surprised gamers with fantastic deals on recent video games. Here are some great deals that have popped up in the last week or so.
