Fit to Game: A New Challenger Appears

If you frequent GoozerNation, you'll be familiar with Ryan Johnson's Fit to Game series. If you're not, look in the right column of this page for Related Articles and get caught up! Ryan has been using EA Sports Active to assist with his fitness goals, documenting as he goes along. I will be taking a different approach.
First of all, a little about me:
I've been overweight my entire life, it's always been something I've struggled with. Over the years, I've tried all different kinds of fad diets and the like. I've never been able to find anything that just sticks with me. This all is compounded by the fact that I love to eat. Food is something that I have lived and breathed for many, many years.
Something just had to change...
Now, my wife and I have been on the same path with our struggles. She came to me two months ago and said that she was ready to make a change. This was all that I needed to hear, it's what I was waiting for! We started to implement changes almost immediately. Gone were the days of eating out 5+ nights a week, gone was the snacks and candy, gone was the soda that I had consumed on a regular basis (3-4 bottles a day). These changes might seem drastic to most, but for us, it was a much needed change.
Things went quite well for the first couple weeks and we started to toy with the thought of joining a gym. Then, we did. We joined up at the local Anytime Fitness, they had a special on enrollment and also on a trainer, so we got that as well! We've been diligently attending the gym, along with personal trainer sessions. I'm getting into the best shape of my life and I couldn't be happier.
So, what does all this have to do on a video game site? Well, first and foremost, I'm a gamer. I have played games on a regular basis for a very long time and now I need to find how to fit them into my new schedule. Usually after the gym at night, I'm finding myself with just a couple hours for gaming, but at least I'm finding it!
So, this will be a new series that I'll be contributing to, so you all can follow my progress. This will not be only as I'm getting "fit", but also about how I'm finding the ambition and time to play games as well.
I'll start off every article with some boring stats, as it will be a couple weeks between articles.
I started this journey on March 28th, 2011 - Weighing in at 269lbs.
I'm writing this first article on May 24th, 2011 - Weighing in at 237lbs. Down 32lbs from start.
My regiment is as follows - Gym 6 days a week. Cardio each day with weight lifting on every other day. I meet with my trainer once a week for a 30min session as well.
So, this is just the beginning...
If anybody has any questions, etc. for me, I'm more than happy to answer them. Sounds off in the comments!
