Saints Row: The Third First Impressions

Saints Row: The Third is a great game. Volition and THQ did an excellent job of taking the game to the next level. I’m only about 5 hours in but I cannot stop playing.
Part of the reason Saints Row: The Third is so fun and addicting is that it is a sandbox game. I may consider this one of the best sandbox games this generation has seen right behind Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, and possibly Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. I spent about ½ the time running around doing side missions, randomly tackling pedestrians and then running from the cops while taking down opposing gang members. There is ample amounts of player, gang, and car customization and upgrades. Any number of these could occupy a players time for hours.
For anyone who didn't play Saints Row 2 but loved GTA San Andreas or Vice City this might scratch the itch until GTA V comes out. Look at Saints Row: the Third this way, if the main story gets tedious or boring, a gamer has any number of options to go do almost anything they like in the game world. This creates an endless game. I cannot wait to finish the story and continue to upgrade and see what the rest of Steelport has to offer.
