Fit to Game: Week 1
Written by Ryan Johnson Wednesday, 09 February 2011 06:00

All right: Here we go. It's no lie anymore. I'm doing the updates on getting fit.
Here's how it will work: I'm writing these updates weekly. If anyone wants to get in with me, drop a note in the comment.
I will write mini-article updates such as this, then once a month post a link to the set on our social network sites.
If you wish to follow along with me weekly, follow me on Twitter.
I have two exercise games for Kinect now: EA Sports Active 2 and Dance Central. So far, Dance Central is getting more use (it's just fun, and great to show friends), but I really want to get back to EA Sports. I can see the benefit it will have. DC may give me a good cardio workout, but EA will shape and train me.
Having the online accountability is helping me in a place I didn't expect: the dinner table. I see myself getting smaller portions and recognizing my fullness more. It's amazing how much better food tastes when you take the time to enjoy it.
Overall, though, I'm excited to say my machine may actually shape me up a bit this time. The increased activity is warming up my metabolism, which in turn has burned five pounds off of me since I started! (I may have just written the article, but I've been working on this for a few weeks.) Remember, losing weight too fast is a bad thing too! You have to eat healthy and develop a good exercise routine. Always consult your doctor, too. (Disclaimers ahoy!)
So, running tally is down five pounds! I'm no Boomer, but I'm not scrawny either. Perhaps the next time we chat I'll have the guts to post my "before" pic. :)
Come on all! Join in! Let's see if the Motion Control Generation can be healthier!
