Bf3 sadfaceBattlefield 3 was released in October 2011 and according to most sources had sold at least five million copies by the end of the first week. No matter who one asks, BF3 is a huge title, and is the third numbered installment in a renowned franchise. Famous mainly for its diversity of classes, weapons, and player-operated vehicles, the game offers players a huge number of weapons, attachments, and playstyle choices. There are five game modes, and along with the nine maps at release, many players also bought or received as a pre-order bonus the Back to Karkand expansion pack, which added more weapons and four remakes of classic Battlefield maps. In short, there are hundreds of ways to play BF3. One can run solo, or as part of a squad. One can focus on helping teammates to accomplish specific goals, or one can continuously change classes and tactics to experience the game however they see fit. And it's possible that therein lies the problem. This article examines whether we as consumers should expect a game of this scope to be entirely perfect and what role the community itself may play in the tarnishing of games like BF3.

the witcherWelcome to the first edition of our new weekly feature called, “What Are You Playing?” Every Friday we will post a new article where we discuss which games we are playing. This might give you some ideas on what to play over the weekend if you’re in a rut or you’re just looking for something new.

There is a thread in the forum where you can list which games you are playing. If you do that, then we will write about those games as well. If you want to write about the games that you are playing, then you can send your contribution to us here (you must be signed in) or you can simply leave a long reply in the forums.

Let’s get started.
