metal gear solid hd collectionHD Collections are currently being released left and right by publishers. Some say that it’s not worth the money, it’s the same games but with prettier visuals. Others can’t wait to get their hands on the collections of their favorite series. Today, we will see why the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is worth your money.

Top 5 Reasons to Pre-order Metal Gear Solid HD Collection:

5. Test Out Transfarring for the Very First Time
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be the very first game to use Hideo Kojima’s latest creation: Transfarring. With Transfarring, you can play Peace Walker on the road or at home, and switch the saves back and forth so you can always continue your game, no matter where you are. This may be a good time to invest in a PSP car charger.

4. Peace Walker Played With a Dualshock on the Big Screen
I think this is the biggie that everyone had in mind when hearing of this collection. And for a good reason too, this is one of those games that really deserves to be a console experience. Everybody prefers a 55 inch Sony Bravia to their 4.3 inch PSP screen, right? And, of course, most people want both analog sticks and their L2 and R2 buttons at the ready.

3. Metal Gear Solid 3 NEEDS HD
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was originally planned to be developed on the PS3. However, the long wait for the console caused it to be developed on the PS2 instead. The entire setting for MGS3 just cries out for HD. The jungle setting would be amazing in HD, and the camouflage would be even more worth your time. After all, not everyone wants to waste their time hiding in plain sight hoping not to be detected, but HD may change your mind at least a little.

2. MGS3’s “The End” Boss Battle
That’s right. This Battle is my second favorite in the series; followed only by the Psycho Mantis’s crazy battle. But for the long battle at the end, you need sharp eyes and strong ears. The End is quite good at camouflaging himself, and this can make the battle overly difficult, long, and less fun than it really is. However, in HD, straining your eyes over every area won’t be a chore, but a labor of love. And it certainly wouldn’t hurt to pick up a good gaming headset such as the Turtle Beach PX21 to enjoy this epic battle even more.

1. Peace Walker with PSN Co-Op
Peace Walker is a title that was truly made to be experienced with friends. Some boss battles can be long and tedious without some back up. Does anybody here remember doing the Cocoon Battle solo? Man, wasn’t that fun. Now imagine going back with 3 other players and repeating the process. You will feel safer, the battle will be less time consuming, and you can always have some fun conversation with friends while remaining focused on the task at hand. You couldn’t really do that while playing on the PSP.

Honorable Mention: Trophy/Achievement Support
Trophies and Achievements are a labor of love to most gamers. Will you collect em’ all? I know I will, and I see a Big Boss Emblem being required to Platinum MGS3. I can’t wait to earn that trophy and flash it around on my obtained trophies.

Hopefully, this article persuaded you to be on the lookout for the game when it’s put up for retail. When choosing your console, I recommend the PS3 if you own both. This is because, according to the website below, the PS3 version will include a download voucher for Metal Gear Solid 1 from the PS Store as well as a download voucher for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. That Peace Walker voucher will not only enable Transfarring and be playable on your PSP, but will also be compatible with the upcoming PS Vita! 5 games with PS3 purchase, 3 with the 360 if the info below is indeed valid!
