The Internet was a different place yesterday. Jpegs were a little crisper; memes were a little funnier; trolls were a little less troll-ish. We joined hands around the world to celebrate a most joyous event:
Uncharted 3 details.
Specifically, details about the multiplayer aspects of the upcoming sequel to developer Naughty Dog’s well-loved Uncharted series. Here are some reasons to hop on the hype train and start getting excited to take your skills online this fall (official details here, but I find they lack my dramatic flair):
More Multiplayer Modes: Group deathmatch returns, with an interesting spin -- 3 teams of 2 players each will battle it out, with the ability to earn boosts and bonuses for sticking with your partner.
Same-Console Split Screen: Consider this one a big kiss on the mouth to co-op enthusiasts. In an age where it seems like the pursuit of better technology comes at the expense of simpler pleasures like split-screen gaming, Naughty Dog is your friend. They’re bringing the big set pieces and the split-screen, all in one awesome package.
Customization: Make your Drake look different from all the other Drakes out there. Trick your gun out with countless scopes, stocks, barrels, and accessories (check out the below video at about the 1:14 mark for a delicious weapon medley), in a system that looks pleasingly reminiscent to the (excellent) weapons system from the underrated Army of Two: The Fortieth Day.
Mark your calendars, dump your girlfriend, and get ready for some wondrous multiplayer mayhem. The beta goes live June 28th for PlayStation Plus subscribers or purchasers of inFAMOUS 2. Dim lights Embed Embed this video on your site
