SoulCalibur V is Coming! Are you Ready?

SoulCaliburVThe Soul still burns... for a fifth time!  Fighting game fans rejoice for SoulCalibur is back!

SoulCalibur V is scheduled for release on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Like any new fighting game, you’ll see some old, familiar faces like the voluptuous (and scantilly-clad) Ivy, Nightmare (the physical form of the Soul Edge’s evil consciousness) and Voldo.

SoulCalibur V is promoting itself as a generational title, which means you’ll get to meet the children of popular (and conveniently absent from the roster) SoulCalibur fighters.  New generational heroes like the son and daughter of Sophitia, Patroklos and Pyrrha Alexandra, and Chai Leixia the daughter of Xianghua, are some of the new kids on the block.

Also appearing as a playable character is Assassin’s Creed’s very own Ezio Auditore da Firenze.  Unlike past SoulCalibur games, there are no console exclusive characters like SoulCalibur II and SoulCalibur IV.

Here is the confirmed cast so far.
