Puss In Boots Screenshots

Video games based on movies rarely give gamers a reason to be excited. Whether it's because it's a property that nobody wanted a game for, poorly translated into the interactive medium, or just marketed wrong, licensed games don't generally do well. Games based on movies predominately aimed at kids have even less pull with the core gamer crowd, though they do sell to parents and grandparents looking for that cute game for their younger children regardless of the quality of the game. So how does the upcoming Puss in Boots look?
To be honest I'm not holding my breath for Puss in Boots to be good. Same goes for the movie. I've only watched the first two movies and while I enjoyed them, I felt that the magic would run out soon (go ahead and let me know if the last entries are any good) and I feel the same is going to happen to this new film which focuses on the fan favorite titular character, Puss in Boots.
If I don't have high hopes for the movie or the game why am I writing this article? Well, the new screenshots have captured my imagination and given me hope that maybe, just maybe, this game will be a fun swashbuckling adventure. Puss in Boots might be the closest thing we have to a Three Musketeers game (cause that would be totally awesome). And if that is the case then maybe, just maybe, this game will also be able to nail the Kinect and Move controls. I've yet to jump in on the motion control "craze" and I'm waiting for quality games that actually make it fun and enhance the experience before I do.
So far The Gunstringer has been the most likely title to make me want to purchase, and humilate myself by playing, the Kinect. But who knows, maybe a licensed game based on a kid's movie based on a long in the tooth series can shift my paradigm?
