Fit to Game: Don't Give Up!!!

So now three of us are exercising, yet we are all guilty of not keeping you updated. Well, the OG poster is back, ready to kick into high gear!

My updates are sporadic lately due to a debilitating illness my wife is going through. In regards to my gaming exercise, at first I used my wife's illness as an excuse to say this: "I have no time!" But the more I contemplate this, the more I realize how important it is: how essential Kinect is in my life right now. I have to stay healthy for the sake of my family! Plus, I don't want to get to the 1 year mark and write a "nothing's changed" article....that would be a disservice to the game AND myself.

For actual game news, EA Sports Active 2 has dropped in price like a stone, Amazon has it for $20 to $40 depending on your system. Plus, you can get EA's football game for cheap as well and have two monitors for multiplay. Always good to have a second to encourage you, right?

As we pass the halfway point of the year, I have to say that I am NOT at my halfway point goal...this has been an exceptional year of utter chaos for my family. One thing to remember for anyone in my position, though, is "not near where you should be" should NOT translate to "give up." Remember, it doesn't matter HOW much you lose, just that you ARE losing. I have worked with morbidly obese people in my profession who used to have the attitude of "who cares" and ask for everything, not even getting up for their snacks, but asking for help. Even if you just get up yourself, you are doing more than not. That person's mindset has changed drastically, and they've dropped hundreds of pounds in the years since. I continue to persevere: if I can't hit my goal this year, I will next year. Eye on the prize....eye on the prize.

All of the big names will be putting out new editions of their games come the end of the year. After all, New Year's Resolutions will be hitting. Personally, I hope to be able to contact EA, Zumba, Biggest Loser, and the rest of the Fit Gaming troupe to provide you with previews as we near that time and prepare to begin a new year of fitness.

So to my fellow GoozerNationalites: I hope your exercise regimen is treating you well. I seem to have hit a plateau as of late, but that could be the simple lack of time. Sound off with how you are doing: it would be nice to hear encouragement from the others. It's time to get back on the health track: for me AND those I love. Happy fit gaming all.
