Gearing Up for Mass Effect 3

Are you ready for Mass Effect 3? Do you know which pre-order bonus you’re going to take advantage of? If not, take these opportunities to get the PC digital downloads of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for cheap and compare these bonuses.
The GoozerNation team recently had an internal conversation about which systems we would be playing Mass Effect 3 on and the statement was made that the PC is the superior system and since I upgraded my computer to be better at gaming I’ve started to prefer playing non FPS games on the PC. Unfortunately my Commander Shepard lives on my 360 and I thought I’d be stuck continuing the fight there because I didn’t want to spend $40 to $50 to rebuy the games for the PC. Luckily, Amazon came through for me and they can for you too (until Monday the 20th).
Amazon is offering the digital download version of Mass Effect for $5 and the Deluxe Edition of Mass Effect 2
for $7.50 (the standard edition
is $5).
Finally, where should you pick up the game? Well if you’re a Gamers Club Unlocked member at Best Buy then the Mass Effect 3 pre-order bonus gets you a $20 gift card on top of the normal bonus of the M55 Argus Rifle (360 and PS3). This means the Collector’s Edition of the game, which comes with a metal case, hardbound art book, Mass Effect comic, fabric N7 patch, lithograph, soundtrack and a plethora of in-game content including a robot dog and more guns, effectively costs the same as the standard game. And if you’re not a member of the Gamers Club Unlocked then I suggest you become one – it’s basically the same as Gamestop’s Game Informer deal: pay $15 for a year’s worth of the store’s gaming magazine and get more for trade-ins and special offers. The biggest difference is that Best Buy’s @Gamer magazine comes with hundreds of dollars of coupons in each issue.
Amazon is offering most editions of Mass Effect 3 with a $10 gift card and the M55 Argus Rifle, the exception being that the PS3 Collector’s Edition does not come with the gift card.
Walmart is following suit and offering a $10 gift card with the preorder.
Gamestop is giving out the N7 Valkyrie Rifle and Defender Armor on top of the M55 Argus Rifle.
As for me I’ll be picking up the PC Collector’s Edition (I’m a sucker for CEs) at Best Buy and getting a $20 gift card as well as adding points to my Reward Zone account (which can be cashed out for even more gift cards). What about you?
