SWTOR: Heroic Space Missions in Patch 1.2

GoozerNation recently got a chance to test some of the new features coming in patch 1.2 for Star Wars: The Old Republic and found something rather interesting that wasn’t documented... heroic space missions. That’s right, it looks like there will be heroic space missions available in 1.2. Unfortunately, these space missions are the same as the old ones except that players can do them with three other players.
From what we’ve seen, it looks like players will be able to choose between the normal version or the heroic version of the space missions. Once one version of the mission is complete, both versions will be unavailable until the next day. This was probably done to prevent easily farming of too many commendations. With the heroic version, the rewards are much more rewarding than the normal version. In addition to more commendations and credits, they also award a blue quality lockbox relevant to the level of the mission. For the higher level space missions (the ones that award daily commendations), the lockbox is purple quality and also has a chance to contain purple quality augments.
For those who think they can solo the heroic versions of the space missions, we can tell you now that it is virtually impossible. The objectives alone require so much that one ship cannot complete it on its own, even with all purple quality upgrades. For the normal versions, it may require 50 kills of a certain type of fighter. For the heroic versions, this number can go as high as 500 kills. Sounds like it would be a good challenge though.
