Terminator Salvation Review

I have played all the ps2 Terminator games on ps2 and though they were nothing special, they were fun to kill the time and just the fact
of controlling the Governator of my state is appealing to me; especially when he goes throwing words like "Fantastic" and "that's what am talking
about" every time you down an enemy.
I expected Terminator Salvation to be just an Ok game, but I was completely wrong. This game was not fun to
kill the time nor did it feature the governator (but that can be excused since he is supposed to be dead).
Here is a break down of the cons:
- Rudimentary ps2 graphics. This game looked worse than its predecessor Terminator 3: Redemption, and that was built for ps2.
- The story is basic and with no significant plot and the main character John Connor doesn't even look like he is supposed to; the jokes are lame,
and the story is both short and boring, the game starts out with you as a member of the 'resistance' and pinned down by the Skynet forces. After a
rather well constructed mission, John Connor makes the moral decision to go back into the fray to rescue some kidnapped POWs by Skynet. Then it all
begins...
- The enemies are few. Too few. In fact, there are only four actual enemies throughout the game as well as no boss fights, there are two other
enemies in the game: a flying air fortress type of enemy that you only fight three times during the game and some missile silos that you have to
destroy during the last mission. And these are the only things you get to shoot at from start to finish.
- AI is what one would refer to as 'legally retarded' in our world. The enemies are programmed to find a target and walk back and forth, side to
side firing at it, and your allies never attempt to take any sort of action other than cover near the closest thing and fire from there.
Since this game requires flanking the enemies, your allies who are always stationary will be rendered obsolete.
- Bad Programming! The game tends to crash a lot. Especially at checkpoints right before you think the level is over. Also, the terminators will
sometimes get stuck into a wall and continue to walk into or out of it; since they merge with the wall it becomes hard to kill them, especially
since they will continue to shoot thru it.
OK, now for the pros:
- Trophy Whores rejoice, this game is simple to beat and in less than few hours; the game is packed with only gold trophies and an open to claim
Platinum
- ...oh, that's it.
Would I recommend this game? No. Was this game worth playing just for the Platinum Trophy...almost...
