Shawn Lebert, Lead Video Editor

Yo, my name is Shawn Lebert and I am a senior writer and now lead video editor here at GoozerNation. Just last year in November, the amazing people at Goozex gave me the opportunity to record, edit and post videos for the site. It's an exciting, little, one-man job. It's a lot of work but it is also something that I love doing, as well as write, of course. It was at the end of 2008 when I found Goozex and The Goozex Report.

Why do I love doing it? Well, it all started when I was in high school and found that brainstorming for stories and developing characters was extremely fun. I found myself going to college for Film and Television, wishing to direct and write movies. There, I found a fascination for editing videos.

Oh, by the way. I've been playing video games since I was five-years old. Just like many, I started with Super Mario Bros. and soon enough, I ended up getting an Atari and a Nintendo Entertainment System.

My favorite consoles were the Super Nintendo and the PlayStation 2. Mostly because of their vast, amazing game libraries. There were so many good memories on both systems.

I'm currently between jobs right now, exploring for jobs in the film industry, whether it's for writing, video editing, being a production assistant on a film set, whatever it may be, in Hollywood!

The top three games of my life include:

Half-Life (PC) - Gordon Freeman may be mute but he is the most badass scientist ever to grace the earth. This first person shooter made me learn that you can have a philosophical, existential, literary masterpiece in a world filled with guns and catastrophe. And there aren't any cut-scenes.

Resident Evil (PS) - Resident Evil was the first horror that actually scared the be-jesus out of me. The storyline, the location, the fear - everything about Resident Evil is what horror is all about. How can you put terror in such a deeply layered, innovative, survival horror pioneer? Resident Evil is just that.

Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) - Solid Snake is one of the most intriguing characters ever developed, but wouldn't have surfaced without mastermind Hideo Kojima. This game doesn't just explore stealth modern warfare, but it also makes you realize the beauty of life and the tragedy of death. Raiden isn't bad either. True, MGS1 and 3 made you realize the same things but I'm so fascinated by its convoluted behemoth of a plot. Contact Me
