The Attack of the 8001050F Error!

Some friends earlier today made me aware of some MW2 action tonight. I decided to hold off and get in some time with Heavy Rain like many others have done this week. Playing along, I got really deep into the game and pretty much got into the final trial with Ethan. Alright, time for MW2, right? I wanted to take a break from this insanely amazing game. I want to make sure my friends are still on, so like any half-witted person, I attempt to sign into PSN. "Network cannot be connected" followed with my now favorite error, 8001050F.

Now, at this point I don't know what the heck is going on and I've never had this problem before. As I turn my PS3 off and unplug the power cord to see if I can reset the system to get the network to come back I decided to check my email. Oh looky, there are numerous emails all on the same subject, the dread 8001050F Error. Now because I've quit playing Heavy Rain to get into MW2, it will not allow me to get back into Heavy Rain. In fact, I get the same message going into any game I wish to play. "Registration of the Trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit."

What is my option at this point? Click OK like nothing is wrong and not complain one bit. Just have to figure this out, I can do this. Let's go ahead and search the good old interwebs for a solution. This is where I learn I am not alone. And chances of you reading this are probably high if you have already experienced this massive scale attack of this error is on all of us.

Maybe I'm overdoing this, but this is too good to pass up and not write about. After clicking OK I am prompted back to the XMB where Heavy Rain's background laughs at me. As I am aware, 8001050F is a hardware error, and of course not every PS3 owner is going to run into this error all on the same night, are we? So of course this isn't the correct error. I keep questioning myself what is Sony doing right now? Might it be updates to their servers? I just don't know. Is Sony trying to keep me from having a jolly good time online?

I'm hoping that Sony, as I expect, is fixing this heinous 8001050F Error.

And yes, I do believe repeating 8001050F Error over and over is helping the cause.
