What's the Value Bin and Why Should I Care?

If you're like me, you've probably never paid much attention to the Value Bin tab on Goozex. The first time I saw that, I immediately thought of the $1 bin at Wal-Mart. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of a list of 100 point games, the Value Bin is full of great games that are currently available to trade now. Instant Match. As in, Request it and Get it. The tab should probably be renamed to "Instant Match to Highly Reviewed Games." But that might take up too much space on the menu. So... Value Bin it is. Learn it. Live it. Love it.

One of the biggest complaints I've had with Goozex is the long wait times to get games. The Value Bin does away with that. If you're hungry for a new game now, then the Value Bin is the place to go. And don't be thinking that you're gonna be stuck with Kung Fu Panda or a bunch of demo discs. While you can find those in the Value Bin, you can also find Assassin's Creed II, BioShock 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum and other hit titles. Side Note to the G-Team: Please remove the demo disc games; they kinda junk up the joint.

The Value Bin is also a great place to be reminded of games that you might have forgotten about. Three years ago, I borrowed Guitar Hero II from my brother, then I had to give it back before I was done with it. I never got around to playing it again cause I became interested in other games. Then, while looking through the Value Bin, I found: Guitar Hero III, World Tour, Aerosmith and Van Halen. Each of them are either 100 or 150 points except for Van Halen, which is at 450. Outside of the Value Bin, I found Legends of Rock, with the guitar, for 600 points. The seller has five hours left to accept the trade. My fingers are crossed. I figure this is a great time to catch up on all of the old Guitar Hero games before Warriors of Rock is released in September. Have you seen the trailer with the new guitar? It looks awesome.

To help you find more great games that are currently available for Instant Matches, GoozerNation is going to start listing Editors' Picks. These are games that can be found in the Value Bin at the time of publication. Games can drop in and out of the bin all the time, so it's best to check each time you're thinking about requesting a new game.

The GoozerNation staff had more questions on how the Value Bin works, and Black Coyote of the G-team was more than happy to provide the answers:

1. How does a game qualify to be placed in the Value Bin?
To qualify, games and movies are placed in the value bin if they have certain supply levels and other trading activity.

2. Are only crappy games that no one wants in the bin?
Well, it depends on what your definition of crappy titles is. I personally wouldn't consider these value bin games crappy titles: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bioshock 2, Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and so many others. But you might, so I don't know how to answer that.

3. Are all the games in the bin available for immediate trading?
Yes, all items in the value bin will be instant matches.

4. Once a game is in the bin, can it leave the bin?
Yes, games drop in and out all the time.

5. Is there a max amount of points a game can be worth before it can go in the bin?
No, a game can be any value.

6. Where is the value bin?
The value bin is located as a tab under each specific console. For example, clicking on Playstation 3, you will have a sub menu of tabs with the Value Bin on there.
