Today, Zombie Studios' announces a new first person shooter with multiplayer action through the PSN, XBLA and PC.
What do you get when you combine aspects of CoD and Wolfenstein in a downloadable format? You get Ignition Entertainment's and Zombie Studios new FPS Blacklight: Tango Down. This AAA-quality military shooter is set for download through the Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network and to your PC this summer.
"We're excited to be working on a gripping new franchise that will deliver the intense action, thoughtful tactics and in-depth strategies of today's best multiplayer shooters immersed in an all new universe that gamers will really sink their teeth into," said Ajay Chada, President of Worldwide Studios, Ignition Entertainment. "Blacklight: Tango Down is set to change the way gamers view the possibilities of downloadable content because it will offer shooter fans the top quality, deep content and exciting experience that they are used to finding in a retail product but in a downloadable package."
Players will plunge into a whole new universe called Blacklight. Utilizing the graphical power of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3, Blacklight: Tango Down's near-future setting is brought to life with disturbingly detailed and old-world architecture dripping with modern sci-fi lighting and brightly lit advertisements, an effect that causes each environment to appear both futuristically alien as well as hauntingly familiar. That description might remind you of the 2009 release of Wolfenstein, although, Blacklight doesn't mention any superpowers from the veil.
Blacklight: Tango Down does feature deep customization features, just like CoD and several other games. Players can alter and upgrade not only their character through experience gained on the battlefield, but also the weapons. Weapon customizations will unlock as the player gains skill and experience points and will include more basic add-ons like sniper scopes as well as more complex enhancements, such as improved accuracy. Everyone out there loves good sniper action...and this game appears to have it.
The multiplayer will feature your typical Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Control Point. Additional modes will be announced closer to the launch.
