rackdown 2 is a fun basic romp through Pacific City blowing crap up, shooting zombies and ruffians while finding orbs to powerup, which allow you to platform across all types of terrain, city environments and water. I've played 3.5 hours on coop with a buddy and completed 12% of the game. We are looking forward to seeing if the enemies increase in difficulty and start to vary and we most definitely decided we need to amp up the difficulty. On the Thug level, which is one step up from Easy, the game is a basic walkthrough. Even on the walkthrough difficulty level, the game is still fun and it allows you to explore the city without much worry of getting killed. Even if you do die, playing coop allows you to revive your buddy. If you're in a danger zone, then the revival grants you some super strength to get out of the difficult situation. Some of the most fun times in coop mode including saying things, Oh look, I found a hidden orb. Or, hey, the path is over here. Or, Dude, did you see that explosion? Awesome.

If you do play coop, good advice is for all of the players to have gained at least level 3 agility (or everyone starting from scratch) so that no one has difficulty reaching and jumping to areas that other players have no problem accessing. A very cool feature to playing coop, is that you can bring your current character in the game without sacrificing any of your abilities. My brother had played approximately three hours before I started, so he had time to level up quite a bit. When he joined my game, which I was just starting, he had all of his attributes. Plus, since I was starting a brand new game, all of the mission objectives were available. The only real difference for him, is that the orbs that he previously found in other games were no longer available. As for driving in Pacific city during coop, it is possible for one gamer to grab the steering wheel and the other gamer can sit in the passenger seat. While perusing the Achievements list, I noticed an Achievement called Party Bus (or something like that). It sounds like at some point in the game, if you're playing four-player coop, then all of you can pile into a big vehicle and shoot guns while driving. Now that's something to look forward to.
Crackdown 2 doesn't take itself too seriously and the voice over guy is pretty amusing. Go into this game
with a light hearted approach and a couple of friends and you should have a good time. If you do play solo, you might get bored with the basic
gameplay, unless you enjoy silent exploration.
Also, don't think of this game as a sequel. It's really more of a redux. The developers did take their time in recreating the entire city even though the graphics aren't quite up to par with the current generation of games.
Overall, this one is recommended to play on the cheap. Is it worth $60? No, probably not. But chances are Goozers will start offering this one pretty quick after they complete the campaign and the waiting list for Crackdown 2 might go fast. So, get in line and spend your 1000 points on the game. Then burn through it quick with a few buds and flip it back on Goozex to get your 1000 points back. And there you have it, you'll play a good-to-decent game for the price of shipping and a bubble envelope. It's tough to beat that.
