Just Cause 2: Who Doesn't Like Blowing Stuff Up?

Could it be the perfect sandbox game? Being able to do whatever you want while blowing up everything? Having never played the first Just Cause, I didn't know what to expect. The demo cannot do this game justice, 30 minutes is not long enough. Set aside hours of your life and grab your friends. This has to be the best sandbox game released in the last four years. I would say it's the best action-sandbox game since Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Granted I enjoyed Saints Row 2 and GTA IV, but this is free roaming at its finest. Causing chaos has never been this fun or looked so good.

I never got tired of grappling guys together and pulling them into things or each other, or grappling from building to building while struggling to remember to open my parachute. Unlike GTA IV there is no evidence of a nagging and forced mission structure, players can come and go as they please in Just Cause 2. In ways, Just Cause 2 shares some of the great ideas that made Saints Row 2 a blast. The open world coupled with direction here and there, with distractions at every corner. From what I gather there seems to be a variety of factions pitted against each other and you are along for the ride. Overall, it seems the protagonist--Rico Rodriguez--is destined to play the sides against each other.

Wanna jump a motorcycle off a cliff and rappel to a helicopter over head? In Just Cause 2 you can do it, or in my case I somehow managed to attach the two together that ended in a fiery death for myself. This is half the fun of the game and having your friends there makes it all the better. Unlike other games, when I get stuck somewhere in the game, and I have to go play something else to numb my mind, JC2 never feels like this. Want a break, go fly a plane, do some base jumping, or better yet just go and blow stuff up. I'd say this game is easily worth at least $50 of your hard earned gaming dollars.
