A Solid Case for Dante's Inferno

As a gamer, one has to pick and choose what they buy, mainly due to time and money. God of War III is coming in March and Kratos is going to crush the competition. Most gamers have torn through Mass Effect 2 and are wondering what they should purchase to tide them over until March.

How about Dante's Inferno? But wait, isn't that just like Darksiders? Yes and no? There are similarities between the two, both Darksiders and Dante's Inferno have combat that is driven by high-hitting combos, both have semi-interesting plots, both games have someone else who cues in throughout the game to provide tips and direction, and both games have characters that may or may not be god like. Both games are short and warrant 1-2 playthroughs.

For those on the fence between the games while they wait for the release of GOW III, it comes down to the main characters: War or Dante? Out of the two, Dante is much more interesting. He was the center character for a 14th century poem, the Divine Comedy that all college students have been forced to read. War is just another Horseman of the apocalypse with a large sword; somehow I think Pestilence would have been more interesting. War has the opportunity to visit hell on earth, something that has been done a few other times in games. Dante is on a trip through the lesser known Hell, to save a loved one, while trying to save your own soul, much like the poem.

If you are still on the fence think about this, the ps3 version of Dante's Inferno, the Divine Edition should make the decision for gamers. It comes with a digital version of the poem, the soundtrack, a making of the game documentary, digital art book, and free March DLC. Both games are fun, but Dante's Inferno just provides more bang for your limited gaming buck.
