There are plenty of presets to chose from like basic face shapes. After that, players are allowed to change and mold these features further including hair and eye color to create their unique character.

The story begins when the king of Balandor tries to amend war among fighting countries by inviting his enemy to sign a peace treaty. Disaster ensues when the story's hero, a boy name Leonard, comes back from a trip to get wine for the palace. Eventually, Leonard awakens the old Knight's armor, morphing into it, and thus giving the player an extra power up in the game.

Unfortunately, the game's dialog and some characters keep the game from being less than convincing. The graphics are Playstation 2 class and the character lip syncing isn't anything special. white_knight_chronicles (33K) An annoyance in the game is the cost of battling. Each player has health but it is still required to spend a certain amount of energy to perform each task. This makes sense in the way of realistic fighting, but does not translate well into the game.

Fortunately, the game does have some redeeming values such as many expansive lands with a neat battle system. The battle system at first is a little hard to understand, but after the player gets used to the different commands, there are some neat tricks that can be acquired. One such trick is the ability for gamers to string together single attacks to create their ultimate combo. Another cool function of the battle system is the ability at times to select certain areas to attack on larger enemies. This feature isn't new to gaming, but the presence and the way that Level 5 uses it is a nice bonus.

So is White Knight Chronicles the game for you? If you're a major RPG junkie, you don't mind a few annoying characters, you're willing to wait out the somewhat elementary story to complete the game, then this game is for you. However, if you're looking for major graphics from a new Playstation 3 game, fun gameplay, and sassy characters, then this game is likely not for you. But wait, if you're in some sort of combination of either category and are looking for an instant match, then this game is for you! See for yourself with an open mind.
