re you one of those gamers that still dusts off World at War for some Zombie action every now and then? I know I am. And I also am confident that I will be fighting off more Zombies this November.
Let's face it, World at War was good, but it failed in comparison to the great Call of Duty 4. Campaign: average, but nothing compared to Modern Warfare. Multiplayer: Good, but again, not Call of Duty 4. Then, there's coop. Treyarch 1, Infinity Ward 0. Even with Spec Ops that would come one year later, it couldn't top Nazi Zombies.
Nazi Zombies was arguably the best part of WaW. Greater than its campaign and multiplayer, Nazi Zombies gave us something fresh, and the fans helped it grow. Who would have guessed that a small campaign bonus would get a new map with every map pack? That alone proved that Treyarch knows we love Nazi Zombies. I find it highly unlikely that they would drop their original coop experience after everything they've done with it.
Then there's the interview with Treyarch's studio head Mark Lamia. When asked if the great Nazi Zombies would return, he said, "I cannot confirm or deny that we're putting them in. Do you want to see them in? Here's what I can say: we're really appreciative and we're happy because adding them in before was a really risky thing to do." Afterwards, he would say that they listen to their community a lot, and that a great coop experience would be included. One that could top Nazi Zombies is only another Zombie mode. At least, that's how I see it.
Also, there's the leaked cast list for the voice actors behind Black Ops. There was the name Shaun Paul Paccinino listed to voice a "Zombie." Of course, there was that ugly rumored tag next to it as well. This isn't very solid proof and it could be fake. Who knows? But, it can't hurt the chances of Zombies making a comeback!
So, I'll say it once again, they know we love it, and they know we need it. Plenty of people will buy the game only if it includes a Zombie mode. There are those who will not buy it because they have plenty of other CoD games to play. Zombies would likely change that decision. Hear us Treyarch! We demand a Zombie mode!
