fter a week in private beta, the Gaming Q&A site of the future is now open to the public. Based on the innovative style of Stack Exchange, Gaming Stack-Exchange aims to provide users with an easy and convenient way to find answers to your gaming questions.

stack_exchange (10K) Once a question is posted, users can answer and comment, like most sites. One feature that makes this site more convenient is the up-voting aspect. Users can up-vote and down-vote the answers given, and the site adjusts their place in line accordingly. What this means for users is that the answers voted most-helpful are shown first. There is no need to sort through pages full of filler posts and juvenile comments only to find that no one knows the answer.

The innovative design makes this site truly one of the easiest I've ever used. Within minutes of posting my, "Where can I find Grand Soul Gems on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?" question, I had a helpful answer that got me over the "curing vampirism" hump in said game. In the past, such questions would require reading through long walk-throughs that aren't always terribly accurate. This isn't just a "help me cheat on this game" site, though. Virtually all gaming questions are welcome, from questions about specific games, to which brands of controllers perform best, to how to back up saved games on the PS3. Only questions that have no real answer will be rejected, so you can expect to find no console wars debates on Gaming Stack-Exchange.

Gaming Stack-Exchange is free to use, as are all the Stack Exchange sites. Users can choose how involved they want it to be, as it is a community-driven site that relies on its members to help keep it going. Members can earn reputation points by completing various tasks such as asking and answering questions, leaving comments, and voting on posts. Earning reputation is completely optional, but higher reputations can result in some sweet perks for the more active members--the most notable being reduced advertising, but also includes the ability to edit and even delete other member's posts.
