quare Enix brings you Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, an original Final Fantasy game being developed for the Nintendo Ds. Fans of the Final Fantasy series might recognize the work of the team that recently brought you remakes of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV in this title that is set to be released in the U.S. on October 5th.

Final_Fantasy (12K) The story is a simple and familiar one--the young hero, Brandt, must present himself to his King as he ceremoniously becomes an adult on his 14th birthday. However, when Brandt reaches the castle, he discovers that the Princess was kidnapped. What does the King do? He asks young Brandt to rescue her, and so begins your journey.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light features four heroes (hence the name), and utilizes the new Crown System, in which you can assign different jobs to each of your characters by changing their crowns. With an art style described as similar to that of Harvest Moon, combined with cute young characters, this is a title sure to appeal to tweens and teens. However, old school Final Fantasy may be a tough sell if the gameplay differs too drastically from the original series. Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light was released in Japan last fall, and received pretty good reviews there. Although that won't necessarily translate to a great reception in the States, Final Fantasy fans old and new are sure to talk about The 4 Heroes of Light come October.
